They took their time but we finally got an update about Warcraft III Reforged. Custom Campaigns are coming. While we already knew this it is nice that it is officially confirmed now. And lets not forget about Ladder and Ranking.
Custom Campaign
A while ago i contacted Blizzard about this and they gave a update that Custom Campaigns where coming in the future. And now they said the following:
“Just a quick note to let everyone know that we have a dedicated team here focused on Warcraft III. Alongside our continued efforts to bring monthly patches with bug fixes and quality of life changes, the team is prioritizing delivering features like Ranked Ladders, Profiles, Clans, and Custom Campaigns. We’ll continue to share more details as those features are nearing release, but know we’re here and hard at work on the game.”

Online
While i am more focused on the World Editor we will talk a little bit about online and ranking today. First yes you can play against other players but it will not reward you in any way except from some portraits. When ladder goes life you get a ranking. As usual Ranking increases when you win against other players. This is still not in the game. Likely because the game is not stable enough to give players a fair ranking. A noob could win if the Pro got DC and that can happen at this point. And there is a portrait problem. First Campaign portraits don’t sync between devices. Second you can unlock portraits with cheats. So everyone can get Hard Campaign Portraits. And for syncing. You can copy and paste your local campaign progress to another computer by diving in your Warcraft III folder.
Blizzard has a long way to go to get this game right. But maybe they will succeed for a part if they do these things right. But the false advertising is not something the gonna fix.
