Warcraft III Reforged released yesterday and lets say it has a rough start. The game has performance issues and much that was promised back in 2018 is not in the game at all. And the we have the custom campaigns….
Warcraft III Reforged advertising
Back at Blizzcon 2018 Blizzard promised us lot of things that would be included in Reforged. Then we almost heard nothing about the game for almost a year. And in Blizzcon 2019 they told us that some content has been scraped. This because some people don’t want the game to change too much. Then in December the release date got delayed and yesterday it came out. Below there is a list of things that the said in 2018.
Visuals rebuilt from the ground up
This was true and the graphics do look much better then the original ones.
Over 4 hours of reforged cutscenes
That didn’t happen. The cutscenes have changed a little bit true but i would not call it reforged.
Updated UI
Back in 2018 we saw a more simple UI. But in the release we got the old one. The only thing that changed is that you now have some empty space left and right from it.
Voices Rerecorded
Did not happen. Blizzard claims that they didn’t do it because the players liked the old voices more. However when i read the forum there was only a small group of people who didn’t want new voices.
Custom Campaigns
While you can create one in the editor, an option to play it is not present in the game. This means that there are no custom campaigns that can be played at this moment. But blizzard has not commented on this yet. Many fans are concerned that it is removed but i don’t think that is the case because Blizzard knows there is a large modding community that needs custom campaigns. They either forgot to place a button for it or it is delayed. Custom campaigns have been a part of the game since the release of the Frozen Throne.
