It seems that the next Elder Scrolls game is years away while the series latest game Skyrim is heading toward its 8th anniversary. So what to do until Elder Scrolls 6…..
Elder Scrolls Online
While it had a rough start the Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is a pretty good game today. You have access to a large part of Tamriel. You can play with Friends but it is not required. You can play ESO as a solo game if you want. The combat is a little different but you still have most gameplay that you are used to. The PVP in this game is awesome! Cyrodill is a open world PVP zone in witch you can conquer forts and castles. You have 3 faction that battle for control over this never ending battle.
- Large World.
- Gets new gameplay and zones every year.
- Nice Graphics
- Many hours of Story content
- Amazing PVP
- Has Lootboxes
- Long loading times
- Takes a lot time to reach max level
Oblivion
If you liked Skyrim and thinking what to do until Elder Scrolls 6 you should give Oblivion a try. Oblivion is the 4th Elder Scrolls game. While the graphics have aged a little bit the core gameplay is the same as Skyrim. The story is good and the music amazing. The side quests are fun as well but i bit monotonous sometimes. The cities are all identical while the world is not. So if you want to play an Elder Scrolls game and you played Skyrim too often give Oblivion a chance.
- Identical cities.
- World looks lively.
- Many hours of Story content.
- Outdated Graphics
- Weird looking characters and NPC’s
- Monotonous world
Morrowind
Morrowind is the third installment of the Elder Scrolls series. It has a 3D engine for the first time and was well received when it launched. The gameplay is a bit outdated now. You have a chance to hit an enemy while you clearly see your weapon going trough the enemy you may do no damage at all. You also have no markers telling you where to go. The quest log is a big book full of text so Morrowind can feel very realistic but it also makes the gameplay really slow. The game ins’t fully voiced like the ones that came after. So if you like a lot of reading this is your game. The world itself is very nice with many sorts landscapes and towns.
- Variety of landscapes.
- Not fully voiced
- Outdated Graphics
- Quest log is a mess
