Should i subscribe to Game Pass? Lets see why you should give Game Pass it a try or why you should stay away from it.
Why you should subscribe to Game Pass
Game Pass has more then 100 games that you can acces for a relative low cost. And it are not just some C category games that are on Game Pass. Many AAA games like Skyrim, Halo, Age of Empires, Fallout and once it is out Starfield. This is just the top of the iceberg but you get the idea. If you don’t have much money to spend and want to play a lot of games or just want to play a large number of games, Game Pass is for you. With the cost of about 10 dollars each month you get 100 of games including games that normally cost 70 dollars.
Why you should not subscribe to Game Pass
While it sounds very good to get many games for a low cost, the reality is you get nothing at all. Once you unsubscribe you end up empty handed. But if you buy a game for 70 dollars it at least is all yours, no matter what happens you own it. If you for some reason get financial troubles in the future and you can no longer afford Game Pass, you at least can still play the 70 dollar game. And then there is the removal of games, it is possible for a game to be removed from Game Pass, if you were just playing that game that’s too bad for you.
Pro’s and Cons
- Very cheap
- Acces to many AAA games
- New games get added over time
- Once you unsubscribe you lose all your Game Pass games
- Games can get removed
- No control of what games you can play
There is no good or bad answer to the question “should i subscribe”. It really depends on how many games you play and if the games you like are on Game Pass. My advise is that if you already own a lot of games or play only a small selection of games, do not subscribe. But if you want to try something new or don’t have the money to buy all games for 70 dollars you should give it a try.
I tried it at the start of the covid pandemic. But except for one game, i already owned the games on Game Pass that i liked. So i decided to just buy that one game and unsubscribe. In my oppinion it is always better to own something instead of leasing it.
