A few weeks ago Blizzard And GOG announced that they ware making a updated version of the first 2 Warcraft games. These games will mostly look the same but can now be played with a modern OS.
Warcraft on GOG
Back in 1994 Blizzard released their first Warcraft game called Warcraft Orcs and Humans. The story was based around the war between the Orcs and the Humans in a epic RTS game.
Blizzard sold 100.000 copies in the first year after the games release.
The gameplay feels a bit old compared with today’s games. You must use hotkeys more often to command your men.
The Second War
One year after the first game Blizzard released Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness.
The gameplay feels more modern and the graphics also have been updated.
The story is still Orc versus Human. Both Races have now made allies and try to defeat their enemies. The game also has the expension Beyond the Dark Portal. In this expension we go beyond Azeroth and travel with famed heroes like Khadgar, Alleria and Turalyon to Outlands the world of the Orcs. The game was a great succes and followed up in 2002 with Warcraft III.
