Almost out of nowhere, Blizzard released a new story campaign for Warcraft 3 Reforged. Not only do we get a new campaign, we also get a new graphics setting that looks like a remaster of the original style!
General & User Interface
- Definitive Edition (DE): Introduces a brand-new high-fidelity graphics mode, completely replacing the previous ‘Classic HD’ setting.
- Selection Cap Increase: The maximum number of units you can select in a single group has been increased from 12 to 24.
- Forsaken Kingdom Theme: Adds a new main menu UI skin, an updated background musical track, and a fresh introductory cinematic upon launching the game.
- Gameplay Indicators: Implemented air-to-ground visual indicators for HD graphics and enabled support for unit occlusion.
- Campaign Progression Overhaul: The campaign screen has been redesigned. Progress is now unified across graphics modes (e.g., beating a mission in Classic Human unlocks the next mission for the Reforged version as well), and you can choose your preferred graphics mode per individual mission.
- Advanced RPG Stats: Native support added for advanced RPG mechanics, including Ability Amp, Ability Vamp, Ability Speed, Mana Efficiency, Crit Chance, Crit Damage, and Resolve.
- Technical Updates: Floating text cap raised to 10,000, native support for OOG audio files added, and new official server locations deployed (including Saint-Ghislain, Belgium).
