Fix Minecraft RTX Lag

Many people have the problem that Ray Tracing on Minecraft has a very low performance. But at long last i found a solution.

What is Minecraft RTX?

RTX gives Minecraft a whole new look. The caves and nights are so dark that you almost can’t see a thing. And when the sun is up you see a more colourful world with realistic shadows and water. You do have to lower the view distance take keep the game smooth but it is worth it. If you want to use RTX you need a RTX compatible texture pack like the one from Nvidia. Once you activated it you can enable Ray Tracing in the video settings. You do need an Nvidia RTX card to use Ray Tracing.

Fix Minecraft RTX Lag

So lets get back to the point. How to fix that lag. Well the solution is surprisingly simple but unexpected. In short you must tell your Computer what videocard it should use. Even if you have only 1.

1. Go to the Nvidia Control Panel
2. Go the 3D settings
3. Click the Programs Settings Tab
4. Find Minecraft for Windows 10
5. Navigate to the Open-GL option and select your Videocard.
6. Thats it

Yeah like i said it is not that hard to fix Minecraft RTX lag problem you just have to figure it out.
